Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been a top destination for visitors to major international events hosted by the UAE in the past six months, including Expo 2020 Dubai, FIFA Club World Cup, the 5th UMEX and SIMTEX, the International Defence Industry Technology and Security Conference, the Food for Future Summit, and the Global Goals Week in cooperation with the United Nations.
More than 1.26 million people visited the mosque between October 2021 and March 2022. More than 2,500 delegation members from around the world visited the mosque. These included presidents of states, ministers of foreign affairs, ministers of other ministries, ambassadors, consuls, and speakers of parliament.
Additionally, the mosque hosted 51 academic visitors from local and international institutions, as well as 293 visitors from international media outlets, including TV stations from Argentina, Ecuador, and Luxembourg. Brazil’s official broadcaster aired a live broadcast from the mosque, highlighting the mosque’s artistic aspects and its values of peace and coexistence.
During this period, the mosque was visited by more than 228,000 people for prayers. With respect to relevant events, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque drafted comprehensive plans in accordance with high standards. This ensured its readiness to receive the country’s international guests and provide them with a rich and comprehensive experience.
