    USAID administrator meets King Abdullah, discusses Jordan program.

    Samantha Power, the administrator of USAID’s Jordan program, met with King Abdullah of Jordan to discuss the programs USAID implements in Jordan. Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II attended the meeting which covered water and education programs, enhancing governance, and empowering youth and women. King Abdullah expressed appreciation for the United States’ important role in supporting Jordan’s development efforts through regional networking and integration, noting the need to step up efforts to combat international crises that threaten food and energy security.

    USAID administrator meets King Abdullah, discusses Jordan program.The meeting included an overview of regional economic partnership projects, which includes Jordan and is supported by USAID, in the fields of energy, water, and food security, for the benefit of the entire region. The Administrator commended Jordan’s efforts to host Syrian refugees and its willingness to work with regional partners to develop resilience against various crises and their economic implications. Ambassador Dina Kawar, who represents Jordan in Washington, DC, joined Jordan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Ayman Safadi, and Director of His Majesty’s Office, Jafar Hassan.
