The 21st edition of Airport Show opened in Dubai with higher confidence and indications that the aviation industry is experiencing a resurgence to pre-pandemic levels. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, inaugurated the annual Airport Show, the world’s largest annual airport event which will run from 17th-19th May, 2022. After the opening ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed toured the exhibitor pavilions accompanied by senior officials from the aviation industry from both inside and outside the country. He was briefed on the technologies and devices offered by 150 international companies from 20 countries.
Sheikh Ahmed stressed the importance of the Airport Show in this present context, as it will give an additional boost to the global aviation sector, whose rapid return to the pre-pandemic level began to emerge with the high demand for travel and the announcement of the restart of development projects at the level of the world’s airports in advance of the next stage of growth. More than 150 exhibitors from over 20 countries exhibit their products and services at the Show, and more than 4,500 industry professionals attend. Furthermore, the show will host the 9th edition of the Global Airport Leaders Forum. In this forum, more than 40 aviation and airport leaders around the world will present an array of topics including airport innovation, air traffic management, sustainability, and airport security.
