Fouad Hussein, Iraq’s foreign minister, and Matthew Tueller, US ambassador to Iraq, discussed the State Department’s report on human rights in Iraq. In a statement, the ministry said that the Minister received Matthew Tueller, the American ambassador to Iraq. In addition to bilateral relations, the two countries discussed ways to foster joint cooperation.
As part of the discussion, the minister referenced Iraq’s current situation and aspirations to form a functioning government, as well as the obstacles to such a step, by noting that a number of international and regional issues and issues of common interest were discussed, including the security and military developments in Ukraine and its severe effects, as well as the food insecurity in the region.
